READ Cased Hole has kicked off a series of Insights with READ events by hosting a successful Pulsed Neutron Logging session at the Prime Four Business Park in Aberdeen on 29th March.
We will be repeating this pulsed neutron session in the coming months in central Aberdeen – look out for further details to be announced.
Joining us at the event were representatives from a number of locally based companies, who gained valuable insights into the processing, interpretation and use of pulsed neutron data for reservoir surveillance purposes.
Andrew Garioch, READ’s North Sea Business Development Manager said, “We’d like to thank everyone who came along. It was fantastic to hear about the issues their businesses are facing, and discuss the solutions we can offer to add value to their operations and help improve asset production.”
“The depth of experience and diverse range of technical expertise amongst attendees helped make it a particularly engaging and informative session.”
The two-hour event started out with a technical presentation. READ’s Senior Cased Hole Analyst, Chee-Kong Chen used case studies to highlight the validity, limitations and assumptions in analysing pulsed neutron logs, and demonstrated how this information can support decision-making.
He also shared fascinating insights that answered the following key questions – what do READ tools measure, what information is required, how robust is the measurement, and which interpretation techniques do we use?
The presentation was followed by a question and answer session, then over lunch there were networking opportunities as well as access to a range of interactive READ technologies on display.
Our engineering and data interpretation specialists were also on hand throughout the event to answer questions and discuss technical issues.
We will be holding more Insights with READ events both in Aberdeen and further afield during 2018. For more information contact firstname.lastname@example.org
